Abstract
The correct use of multimedia and the internet in classrooms can be both stimulating and engaging. It can provide learners with easy access to a wide range of possibilities. Moreover it can entice and empower students to take control of their own learning environments. All of this of course imposes huge demands on teachers to go beyond the realm of traditional classroom learning and management and share their often coveted forum. The possibilities here for minority and indigenous languages may be less obvious to some people, but children , no matter what their nationality, are virtually the same the world over in so far as they all want to have fun and enjoy themselves as they learn. This study shows the path taken by children in a minority language , gaelic school in Ireland and presents their journey into integrating internet-based multimedia materials into their daily learning of language and that of their peers.
