A public institution of higher education in northwest-central Louisiana was selected as a regional provider for a Louisiana School Turnaround Specialist Program. Focused on turning around academically low performing schools, the program is a collaboration of university faculty and school district principals selected for participation. Beginning spring 2010, principals will participate in a curriculum designed to hone their leadership skills and gain the professional knowledge needed for urgent, fundamental change. Educational technology will play a major role in the success of this program from delivery of the curriculum to school-based assessments.
